Master Lee's Klang Claypot Bak Kut Teh

Whenever I crave for pork, Bak Kut Teh is always on the list. And, when we talk of Bak Kut Teh, it all goes back to Klang, where the best Bak Kut Teh is served. Well, perhaps.

We were served by the workers, mostly the locals, as the manager is a Chinese guy. But, the longer we sit there, we find out that the manager goes along very well with his workers. They made a lot of jokes and we laughed at their conversations quite often too.

These are the menu and they are, of course, not halal. The moment I glanced at the menu, I knew I must go for my favourite in the Bak Kut Teh, the intestines and the tripe. Sadly, it was not available during that day. So I went for three-layer meat, the leg and ribs.

Each serving is served with fritters and fried beancurd sheets. The  different things in the pot complements the dish perfectly.

The hot soup has a very strong herbal smell but the taste wasn't that so bitter. It was just right. I could tell that the broth has been cooked for long hours, along with the meat as they appear tender and rich in flavours. Plus, they allow us to refill the broth over and over again. It worth the cost.

The ambience wasn't so bad either. It was air-conditioned but wasn't enough to keep us from sweating, since the soup is hot and hot chillies made it worse. But, there's no stopping.

The total bill came up to RM 40+. Lucky us, they didn't charge us for the white rice because my sister got herself an expired coupon, but they still gave us the specialities *wink.

Cheers~
